Obligation to notify and obtain approval from the grid operator

In principle, there is no approval requirement, only a reporting requirement. In detail, this means that wall charging stations must be registered with the responsible grid operator - even before installation. The electrician can do this for you. However, they are no longer subject to approval since 31.12.2023.

However, wallboxes with an output of 4.2 kW or more must be controllable in accordance with §14a EnWG. This means that the grid operator may control the charging power at peak load times in order to ensure grid stability. All charging stations available at e-mobilio fulfill the conditions for this legal basis.
